Shuttle Driver (Non-CDL, PDOT)

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle inspections and maintain cleanliness of bus interiors
• Fuel buses and log trip counts
• Assist disabled passengers
• Be at work every scheduled day, on time, and in uniform
• Carry a valid state-issued driver’s license at all times while on duty
• Maintain an acceptable DMV record
• Courteously assist customers by answering questions or directing them to the Facility Manager
• Report accidents, policy violations, safety hazards, or unusual occurrences to the Facility Manager
• Communicate debris, water, oil spills, and other hazards to the garage office
• Substitute for Cashiers or Valets when necessary and authorized
• Have thorough knowledge of garage areas, major streets, landmarks, and freeways in the garage’s vicinity
• Assist customers with luggage and other traveling items (e.g., operating shuttle buses at airport locations)
• Assist the Facility Manager with other duties as needed

Requirements

• Less than high school education or one month of related experience, training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Valid state driver’s license with a current address and acceptable driving record
• Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT Medical Card)
• Availability to work special shifts, including 3rd shift and/or weekends, depending on location needs
• Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions, correspondence, and memos
• Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one situations
• Basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using units of American money
• Maintain a neat, clean appearance and wear a complete uniform at all times

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle cash and equipment
• Occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance
• May be required to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds

Pay

$17.76 per hour (+ tips). This role is eligible to earn tips in addition to the posted hourly rate.
