Responsibilities
- Perform vehicle inspections and maintain cleanliness of bus interiors
- Fuel buses and log trip counts
- Assist disabled passengers
- Be at work every scheduled day, on time, and in uniform
- Carry a valid state-issued driver’s license at all times while on duty
- Maintain an acceptable DMV record
- Courteously assist customers by answering questions or directing them to the Facility Manager
- Report accidents, policy violations, safety hazards, or unusual occurrences to the Facility Manager
- Communicate debris, water, oil spills, and other hazards to the garage office
- Substitute for Cashiers or Valets when necessary and authorized
- Have thorough knowledge of garage areas, major streets, landmarks, and freeways in the garage’s vicinity
- Assist customers with luggage and other traveling items (e.g., operating shuttle buses at airport locations)
- Assist the Facility Manager with other duties as needed
Requirements
- Less than high school education or one month of related experience, training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid state driver’s license with a current address and acceptable driving record
- Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT Medical Card)
- Availability to work special shifts, including 3rd shift and/or weekends, depending on location needs
- Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions, correspondence, and memos
- Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one situations
- Basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using units of American money
- Maintain a neat, clean appearance and wear a complete uniform at all times
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle cash and equipment
- Occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance
- May be required to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
Pay
$17.76 per hour (+ tips). This role is eligible to earn tips in addition to the posted hourly rate.
