Responsibilities
- Operate a tractor-trailer (potentially doubles) between US FOODS® distribution centers and shuttle yards
- Switch out loaded trailers with empty trailers safely and efficiently
- Check route numbers and account numbers for all assigned deliveries
- Verify customer invoices of product that has been loaded
- Move tractor to the loading dock to attach pre-loaded trailer and/or attach a second trailer with the dolly
- Hook trailers carefully, ensuring all connections are correct
- Use electronic timekeeping system to log time at stop sites
- Check for returns and paperwork on trailers shuttling back to the distribution center
- Perform safety checks on the truck and trailer
- Fuel as required by the division; unhook and secure trailer; park and secure tractor and hand truck
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have a valid CDL A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and be DOT qualified
- Minimum six months of commercial truck driving experience or three months of foodservice or food and beverage truck delivery experience
- Double endorsement license required
- Must register with the FMCSA Clearinghouse (a secure online database providing real-time information about drug and alcohol program violations)
Pay
- $24.23 per hour during training
- $260 daily minimum/component pay after training (based on miles, cases, and stops as applicable)
- Potential incentive compensation
