Shuttle Driver
Job Summary
The Van Driver transports guests and associates to and from the hotel and nearby locations, providing courteous, efficient, and safe transportation services. This role also assists with guest luggage, maintains the vehicle, and follows all safety procedures and traffic laws.
Essential Functions and Duties
- Transport guests and associates to and from the hotel and nearby locations, adhering to all traffic rules and regulations.
- Aid passengers with boarding, exiting, and handling luggage, ensuring a safe and courteous experience.
- Maintain the cleanliness and operational condition of the van, completing daily inspections and maintenance logs.
- Communicate with hotel staff and guests via two-way radio and in person, providing friendly and professional service.
- Greet and acknowledge guests, providing information about the hotel and local attractions as needed.
- Follow safety protocols, including wearing seat belts and following all traffic laws.
- Monitor and report any vehicle issues or necessary repairs to the supervisor.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of shuttle activity logs and reports.
- Assist with other hotel duties as needed, such as delivering guest items or performing bell services.
Required Experience, Education, and Skills
- 3 to 6 months of related experience.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of local roads, highways, and points of interest.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and traffic laws.
- Strong communication and customer service skills to interact with guests and hotel staff.
- Ability to operate a Point of Sale (POS) system for logging and tracking purposes.
- Must be at least 21 years old for insurance purposes.
Work Environment
- Primarily outdoor work, with exposure to varying weather conditions including heat, cold, and precipitation.
- Requires frequent standing, walking, and sitting, with the ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs and push/pull up to 120 lbs.
- Flexible schedule, including availability for weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Exposure to moderate noise levels consistent with an outdoor environment.
