Shuttle Driver

About the role

Masonicare is seeking a Shuttle Driver to join our team at Greenridge Place on a Day Shift basis, working 16 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Maintains established departmental policies, procedures, and objective, quality assessment and improvement programs, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
• Maintains record of use, mileage, repairs or service required.
• Drives truck, bus, station wagon or other hospital vehicles to transport Masonic at Wesley Heights residents to outside appointments.
• Provides suggestions to management to improve overall quality and day to day operations.
• Demonstrates supportive attitude towards patients, visitors and/or staff.
• Communicates effectively and tactfully with residents/patients recognizing their age, needs, abilities and physical condition.
• Reports all unsafe conditions to appropriate supervisor including change in patient status, broken or malfunctioning equipment or anything that could be potential threat or danger to a resident.
• Understands and follows Universal Precautions as it pertains to their department.
• Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.

Requirements

• Valid CT Driver's License-eligible for passenger endorsement.

Qualifications

• Less than high school education.

Skills

• Supportive attitude towards patients, visitors and/or staff.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to follow Universal Precautions.
