About the role

The Shuttle Driver is responsible for transporting guests to and from the hotel, hospital, or casino and local area in a friendly, efficient, and courteous manner using safe driving practices. They assist guests with luggage, including delivery and pick-up during arrival and departure, and maintain vehicle activity and maintenance logs.

Responsibilities

• Shuttle guests to approved destinations as directed by the manager and client contact. Must learn and remember pick-up and drop-off points, property outlets, meeting rooms, amenities, local attractions, parking rates, etc. (40% of time)
• Communicate courteously and professionally with guests, location staff, and co-workers via telephone, two-way radio, and in person. Greet guests within 30 seconds, use their last name when appropriate, and maintain composure under pressure (20% of time)
• Operate vehicles seating sixteen or more passengers. Inspect vehicle exterior and interior at the start of each shift for operational safety (lights, signals, tires, wipers, heating/AC, etc.). Record and report malfunctions or damage to the manager (20% of time)
• Protect guest confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements. Maintain security of client financial and identifying information. Assist patrons with entering and exiting the vehicle, including wheelchair users. Inspect and clean wheelchairs after each use (20% of time)

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger endorsement issued by the state of employment
• Must be at least 21 years of age due to vehicle leasing contract requirements
• Maintain a valid driver’s license at all times
• Pass annual/semi-annual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check
• Complete Towne Park’s Wheelchair Safety Training course as applicable
• Possess a current Medical Examiner’s Certificate
• Maintain up-to-date DOT endorsements and pass a bi-annual physical exam as applicable
• At least three years of commercial driving experience or nine years of licensed driving experience

Skills

• Ability to read, write, and comprehend standard English
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
• Perform basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using American currency and time systems (24-hour/military time)
• Understand rates applicable to time passed

Pay

The hourly base pay range for this position is $18–$22 per hour.

• Specific vision abilities required: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• Lifting requirements: up to 100 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly
• Majority of work performed outdoors, subject to extreme heat and cold weather
• Travel of up to 5% may be required
