Shuttle Bus Driver / Activities Assistant
About the role
Location: 2400 E Lincoln St, Birmingham, MI 48009. Position: Activities Assistant / Driver. Licensure: Chauffer’s license required upon 2 weeks of hire. Job Type: Full Time. As a Shuttle Driver, you will provide transportation services for senior residents in a safe, efficient, and courteous manner. Responsibilities
- Assist residents getting on and off the bus using the safest method (lift, ambulation, physical transfer).
- Complete bus trip log and required route safely and efficiently; organize and coordinate route priorities for maximum productivity.
- Maintain cleanliness of the bus interior and exterior.
- Fill out daily inspection log at the start of each trip and submit upon completion.
- Maintain a positive attitude that supports team performance and productivity.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years experience driving a shuttle, bus, or similar vehicle.
- Valid chauffeur’s license with a clean driving record.
- Compassionate attitude and enjoyment working with the senior population.
- Ability to be timely, patient, and accommodating; familiarity with the local area and ability to maintain a bus schedule.
- Capable of lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Positive, fun‑loving demeanor while delivering excellent service.
Pay
$18 per hour.
Schedule
Monday‑Friday, 9 am – 5 pm (with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed).
