SHOULDERING LEAD DRIVER - (SEASONAL)

Duties and/or Responsibilities

• Aid in creating weekly work and trucking schedules for support trucks.
• Direct and assist with directing drivers and support trucks in the field to determine job order and final destination of loads.
• Participate in spring start-up maintenance on the fleet.
• Inspect and assist others with trucks for defects before and after trips and submit reports indicating truck condition.
• Maintain proper pre-trip and post-trip inspections, keep driver logs according to FMCSA regulations, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Perform daily maintenance tasks such as cleaning, greasing, oiling, and inspecting brakes, lights, and other equipment.
• Conduct daily work plans and weekly toolbox talks with drivers, provide coaching, and handle disciplinary actions.
• Safely operate a Class B truck to transport aggregate to job sites, often driving on uneven or unfinished surfaces.
• Operate a loader to load aggregate into truck boxes, recognize surroundings, and practice traffic awareness to maintain a safe environment.
• Tarp loads when needed, clean spilled material/buildup from the box, verify that gates are closed, complete load tickets, assist construction crews, spread product, and maintain proper information in the truck cab pouch.
• Report accurate and complete information on daily timecards, truck cab information, and other necessary paperwork.
• Maintain and support a safe and harassment-free work environment, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Navigation skills and map reading ability.
• Self-motivation, teamwork, and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Minimum 4 years of previous experience in leadership or supervisory roles.

Minimum Requirements

• General education, grammar, and arithmetic skills.
• GED or high school diploma or equivalent.
• Class B CDL (straight truck) license.
• Experience driving a belly dump, flow boy, lowboy, tanker, or straight truck.
• Medical card and acceptable driving record with required endorsements.
