Shoulder Cutter SS Day Shift

Responsibilities

• Make an accurate cut on every front half around the shoulder and along the scapula.
• Properly pull the breast downward to separate meat from the frame.
• Monitor and continuously improve cut while maintaining low scrape scores.
• Pay close attention to bones and remove as necessary.
• Sharpen knife blade as necessary, every 3 or 4 birds.
• Change out blades at each break.
• Prepare presentations for wing cutters.
• Participate as a member of the team, including ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies.
• Coordinate work to ensure best practices with all team members.
• Attend appropriate team meetings.
• Foster strong team cohesiveness on major issues (e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes).
• Identify and address areas lacking cohesiveness, bringing them to the team leader’s attention and working toward resolution.
• Reinforce actions needed to achieve synergy within the larger organization.
• Understand and support Simmons’ operating systems (e.g., quality, security, company policies).
• Maintain familiarity with the role’s impact on these systems and communicate concerns or improvement ideas.
• Perform other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.

Physical Activities

• Occasional: walking, bending at the waist, twisting of the neck and waist.
• Frequent: reaching at or below shoulder level.
• Constant: standing, bending at the neck, power grasping, fine manipulation/feeling, pushing/pulling, reaching above and at shoulder level, repetitive motion of shoulders/arms/hands, use of vision and hearing.

Work Environment

• Inside line work around loud equipment/machinery.
• Walking around grates, hoses, and foot baths.
• Exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals.
• Cold environment.
