Hanger SS Day Shift

Essential Position Responsibilities

• Hangs birds for processing at established line speed.
• Removes under-grade product from the line and puts it in a designated location.
• Participates as a member of the Team.
• Participates in ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies.
• Coincides work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members.
• Attends appropriate team meetings.
• Maintains strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc.
• Identifies and brings to the attention of the team leader any areas lacking cohesiveness, and works with the team to resolve issues.
• Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues.
• Actively looks for ways and reinforces actions needed to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.

Simmons Operating Systems Principles and Objectives

• Familiarity with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies).
• Understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position's role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.

Physical Activities

• Efficiently work in a plant environment.
• Lift an average 10-15 lb product, repetitively, above shoulders at a rate of up to 35 birds per minute.
• Strenuous physical effort required.
• Regularly required to stand, reach and move about the facility.
• Constant standing, simple and power grasping of the hands, fine manipulation/feeling with the hands, reaching at, below shoulder level, above shoulder level, repetitive motion of the shoulders, arms and hands, light lifting/carrying, use of vision.
• Inside line work around loud equipment/machines;
• Walking around drains, footbaths, hoses;
• Wet environment,
• Occasional dust.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

• Will use waterproof footwear, gloves, apron, hearing protection, hair net(s)/beard net(s), facemask and other protective equipment as needed or required.

Technical Experience

• PREFERRED experience working around moving equipment.

Industry Experience

• PREFERENCE for poultry or food processing organization.
