Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed personal sales goals while providing excellent customer service
  • Answer questions about merchandise and follow instructions from customers
  • Analyze reports and make decisions about inventory, merchandise arrangement, and sales trends
  • Stock shelves, tables, and counters with merchandise according to Scheels standards
  • Set up advertising, signs, and merchandise to promote sales
  • Communicate professionally with vendors and outside sales representatives
  • Train associates on merchandise use and basic knowledge
  • Prepare for and facilitate required product knowledge and sales meetings
  • Attend weekly sales and product knowledge training meetings
  • Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Communicate professionally with customers, co-workers, and business partners
  • Present information in a clear and concise manner
  • Adapt to a changing work environment and apply concepts of basic math, grammar, punctuation, and spelling

  • Heavy Work: Exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma, or general education degree (GED)
  • 1-3 months related experience or training
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

Skills

  • Basic math skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to perform operations using units of currency, measurements, and understand percentages
  • Ability to analyze reports and make decisions about inventory, merchandise arrangement, and sales trends
  • Ability to communicate professionally with vendors and outside sales representatives
  • Ability to train associates on merchandise use and basic knowledge
  • Ability to prepare for and facilitate required product knowledge and sales meetings
  • Ability to attend weekly sales and product knowledge training meetings
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to promote the Scheels Visa Rewards card and clearly explain its benefits

Pay

$49,000 to $51,000+ based on base hourly, personal sales commission and incentives

Schedule

Variated hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays; must be available for minimum of two weekends a month. Average hours per week are 40-41 hours.
