Shop Technician - Diesel & Natural Gas Engine

About the role

Diesel and Natural Gas Engine Technician based in Williston, ND. You will maintain and repair diesel and gas engine components, including Caterpillar engines and transmissions.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair Caterpillar engines and transmissions: remove, repair, assemble, perform technical and failure analysis, and install.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot gas and diesel engines and electrical systems.
• Plan and organize work with a focus on controlling job costs.
• Investigate, analyze, and identify problems to recommend solutions that eliminate recurring issues.
• Perform engine and component rebuilds with limited supervision.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a 2-4 year vocational technical school or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Proficient in the use of a computer and related software (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Ability to stand up to eight hours per day, including twisting, bending, squatting, sitting, stooping, and kneeling.

Qualifications

• Experience working at a Caterpillar (CAT) dealership or with CAT products is preferred.
• A strong background in natural gas and diesel engines, including knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and engine components, is preferred.

Pay

Hourly pay range: $40.70–$55.15 (based on skills and experience).
