Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Aid in the assembly and preparation of fire and life safety system components and materials.
- Support pipe cutting, threading, grooving, and general fabrication activities.
- Inspect, clean, and prepare equipment and materials for field installation and service.
- Receive and organize materials and ensure proper storage within the shop.
- Maintain shop tools, equipment, and work areas in safe and working condition.
- Perform basic maintenance and repairs on tools and equipment as needed.
- Absorb and prepare job shipments.
- Follow work orders, instructions, and basic drawings to complete assigned tasks.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
- Assist with other duties as assigned by management.
Education/Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ years of mechanical, warehouse, or construction experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math calculations.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the day.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
- Preferred: Experience in fire protection or life safety systems and familiarity with NFPA standards.
Other Duties
- Adhere to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50+ lbs regularly.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
- Ability to work in a shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- Use of hands and arms for handling tools, materials, and equipment.
