Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Completes initial inspection and required paperwork for all items to be repaired or serviced.
  • Tear down and inspections of equipment, make recommendations for repairs.
  • Aid with sandblasting responsibilities and painting when needed.
  • Help maintain shop housekeeping.
  • Makes safety recommendations, assists with monthly safety inspections.
  • Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves issues with equipment, devices, or products; uses precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to make measurements.
  • Learns and masters coating applications, paint, epoxy and other coatings.
  • Assembles equipment per manufacturer specifications verifying acceptable tolerances are achieved.
  • Assists Field and Shop Technicians with tasks related to current equipment including pump removal, pump install, shaft alignment, vibration analysis, lube maintenance, and others.
  • Maintains and completes required paperwork and time sheet.
  • Helps maintain a clean shop and performs other duties as assigned.

Competencies

  • Willingness to learn and a team player.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
  • Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills.
  • Driver’s license, DOT card a plus.
  • Strong work ethic with ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Versatile verbal and written communication skills, with ability to clearly communicate with engineering, technical support, sales, and management.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to use micrometers, calipers and other precision instruments.

Physical Demands

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • This role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. This role requires the ability to use electric and manual lifting devices.

Travel

Travel will be local. There may be times where overnight travel is required but that will be an exception.
