Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Performs job activities in a manner consistent with Kodiak’s procedures/protocols, goals and objectives.
- Cover regular inspections of equipment to identify potential problems and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including work orders, parts used, and time spent on each task.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Participate in safety training and meetings.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on natural gas compression equipment, including compressors, engines, and related systems.
- Work closely with other shop technicians and Shop Manager to address equipment issues and improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance tasks are performed to the highest quality standards and in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
Education & Certifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in mechanical, electrical, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in maintenance and repair of natural gas compression equipment or similar mechanical systems.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Demands
- Requires operation of heavy equipment.
- Requires employee to stand for up to 75% of the time.
- Requires employee to climb ladders or stairs to inspecting, repairing, and painting equipment.
- Must be able to frequently lift at least 10 pounds, infrequent lifting of > 50 lbs.
- Potential, controlled, exposure to hazardous chemicals.
- Requires work in outdoor conditions, including extreme heat and extreme cold.
- Requires moving and maintaining self in different positions—stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
- Must wear all required PPE, including fire-retardant clothing, hard hats, face shields, hearing protection, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots.
- Requires an employee to frequently type and use computer and other office equipment such as a copier, printer, calendar, telephone, etc.
