Shop Service Technician I - CAT Rentals

About the role

Ring Power Corporation is seeking a skilled technician to join our team. This position will require adherence to safety protocols, proficiency in diagnosing and repairing various types of equipment, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct all assigned work safely, adhering to safety policies and procedures.
• Wear proper personal protective equipment.
• Attend and complete required technician training classes.
• Maintain necessary tools for diagnosing, disassembling, and assembling components to manufacturer’s specifications.
• Diagnose and perform repairs on customer or company-owned equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Work in a neat and orderly manner, continuously looking for ways to improve work methods, areas, and safety standards.
• Inspect components to maximize reuse and control repair costs.
• Document repairs using appropriate software and report job expenses to supervisors.
• Monitor job expenses against estimates and inform supervisors of any cost overruns before completion.
• Approach work positively, maintain a supportive conduct, and set a standard for others.
• Achieve tasks on time while meeting safety and quality expectations.
• Train and mentor others in the department.
• Assume supervisors' positions temporarily as necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Completed all required training curriculum to be designated as a Tech I.
• Easily and effectively comprehend written material and communicate orally and in writing with employees and customers.
• Proficient in the use of a computer, Microsoft Office products, and relevant Dealer software programs.
• Successfully completed relevant specialized equipment technical courses.
• Update knowledge frequently to adapt to changing business needs.

Qualifications

• 5-6 years of experience in a similar role.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Desired but not required: Proficiency in the use of a computer, Microsoft Office products, and relevant Dealer software programs.
• Desired but not required: Completion of relevant specialized equipment technical courses.

Schedule

This position typically works regular business hours with occasional nights, holidays, and weekends.

Education and Experience

Required: 5-6 years of experience in a similar role. Desirable: High school diploma or GED, completion of relevant technical courses, proficiency in computer software.

Physical Demands

Occasionally lifting up to 25 lbs., occasionally reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Work may involve occasional exposure to extreme temperatures and hazardous materials.

Environmental Conditions

Inside work environment with occasional exposure to outside environmental conditions, including noise, vibration, and atmospheric conditions.
