Responsibilities
- Crawls under or climbs in or on vehicles or equipment for maintenance and repair inspections.
- Repairs, removes, and replaces moving parts and other components of vehicles, equipment, or machinery.
- Disassembles, repairs, removes, and replaces parts of engines, transmissions, drive assemblies, brakes, and clutches of vehicles, equipment, or machinery.
- Tunes, adjusts and regulates equipment engines, valves, pumps, carburetors, and other mechanical components with variable settings.
- Lubricates and services vehicles, equipment, or machinery and maintains accurate records of such service.
- Requests repair parts and lubrication supplies as needed.
- Helps workers of other crafts when not engaged in lubrication, service, maintenance, and repair work.
- Maintains accurate records on truck lubrication, service, and repairs.
- Work harmoniously, cooperatively, and courteously with others at all times.
- Follow directions and instructions from supervisors.
- Perform various tasks and duties that may often change as the work conditions require.
- Work within defined standards of accuracy.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must have a valid driver's license and clean MVR.
- Education and Experience: Certificate from college or technical school; or twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects; ability to perform frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling; must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted; must be able to see and hear well (naturally or with correction).
