Shop Industrial Robotic Sandblaster/Painter, Weekdays - Day Shift

About the role

For over 100 years, Maguire has been an industry leader in the fabrication, construction, and maintenance of water storage tanks and elevated water towers. The Industrial Blaster/Painter will have basic skills in blasting and painting, meet production standards and goals, and steadily increase efficiency while ensuring safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Operate industrial robotic sandblasting cells, including robot controllers and HMIs.
• Load, select, and verify blasting programs and process recipes.
• Monitor robotic motion, blasting parameters, and cycle execution.
• Verify blast pressure, abrasive flow rate, and nozzle condition.
• Monitor surface coverage, finish quality, and dwell time.
• Adjust process parameters within defined limits to meet specifications.
• Set up workpieces, fixtures, or positioners.
• Assist with part changeovers and program selection.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance (filters, nozzles, hoses).
• Identify and respond to system alarms and faults.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Ensure material coming into and going out of work area(s) is properly identified.
• Use overhead hoists safely and effectively.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with industrial equipment, robotics, or automated machinery.
• Goal-oriented, reliable, and responsible for actions and team members in the work area.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Adhere to Maguire’s PPE Policy and Safety Programs.

Work Environment

• Manual dexterity and stability required for precision work.
• Use of PPE (respirator, protective suits, hearing protection).
• Able to see details at close range.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• Able to traverse construction sites by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials.
