Industrial Painter/Sandblaster

About the Role

Clark-Reliance® is a world-class manufacturing company serving customers in over 120 countries in the power generation, refining, gas processing, and chemical industries. The Industrial Sandblaster/Painter performs a variety of spray painting and sandblasting operations on assigned product lines. This is a first-shift position with hours Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM.

Responsibilities

• Spray paint and sandblast products using appropriate equipment.
• Inspect, test, and/or evaluate all parts manufactured in the specific assembly area and perform quality-related analysis.
• Ensure accurate documentation and tracking of materials and inventory.
• Track inventory or prepare other documentation on a computer.
• Visually inspect product to ensure it has not been damaged or deteriorated during handling, storage, packaging, or shipping.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance to maintain equipment in top operational order.
• Effectively perform material handling activities such as crating, packing, shipping, receiving, picking, lifting, and moving using materials handling equipment (e.g., lift trucks, tow motors, cranes, high lifts).
• Utilize small and large tools, hoists, dollies, and other devices when necessary.
• Comply with all safety procedures, including wearing protective clothing, handling chemicals, and using safety/rescue equipment.
• Interact and communicate effectively with all levels of employees, suppliers, customers, and peers.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, standards, and rules.
• Maintain quality assurance policy consistent with ISO standards.
• Maintain work area in a clean, orderly, and safe manner.
• Demonstrate punctual, regular, and consistent attendance.
• Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• One year of industrial-related painting/sandblasting experience preferred.
• Industrial and marine coatings experience using zinc, epoxies, and/or polyurethanes preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications helpful.
• Computer literate preferred.
• Ability to handle non-routine, standard projects and tasks.
• Able to read, write, and follow verbal instructions in Standard English.

Physical and Technical Environment

• Must regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds, using proper lifting techniques or other available resources.
• Specific vision requirements include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Regularly required to walk or stand, bend or twist, climb, and reach with hands or arms.
• Must be medically approved to wear respirator protection, which may include being required to be clean-shaven for tight-fitting respirator use.
• Exposure to paint fumes and dust within industrial-size paint/sand booth.
• Overtime required at periodic intervals to respond to project deadlines.
