SHOP - Industrial Electrician

This full-time, non-exempt Electrician position is based in Canonsburg, PA.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand mechanical and electrical blueprints
• Read and understand P&ID (Piping & Instrument Diagram)
• Design, fabricate, and install all types of wiring conduit
• Pull and land wires
• Wire junction boxes
• Assemble and wire electrical components, including motors, instruments, terminal strips, Panduit, and heat tracing
• Print and install wire labels
• Perform electrical maintenance in the shop
• Inspect, repair, install, modify, and maintain electrical/electronic systems, circuits, and equipment
• Take appropriate measures to ensure safety in the workplace; attend monthly safety meetings as required
• Notify manager immediately (within 24 hours) of workplace injury and ensure appropriate policies and procedures are followed
• Report potential safety hazards immediately to the manager

Requirements

• Associate's Degree or certificate from an accredited school OR HS Diploma or GED equivalent OR one (1) or more years’ experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Three (3) or more years of experience as an electrician, preferably in an industrial environment
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and maintain a positive attitude and good organizational skills
• Ability to plan and manage multiple projects
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Attention to detail
• Basic knowledge of low and high-voltage systems
• Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the electrical field

• Troubleshooting
• Reading blueprints and P&IDs
• Electrical system installation and maintenance
• Conduit fabrication and wiring
• Component assembly (motors, instruments, terminal strips, etc.)
• Workplace safety compliance

Physical Demands

• Lifting, carrying, and moving up to 50 lbs
• Climbing ladders and working at heights
• Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while on site
• High degree of concentration in a busy area
