This full-time, non-exempt Electrician position is based in Canonsburg, PA.
Responsibilities
- Read and understand mechanical and electrical blueprints
- Read and understand P&ID (Piping & Instrument Diagram)
- Design, fabricate, and install all types of wiring conduit
- Pull and land wires
- Wire junction boxes
- Assemble and wire electrical components, including motors, instruments, terminal strips, Panduit, and heat tracing
- Print and install wire labels
- Perform electrical maintenance in the shop
- Inspect, repair, install, modify, and maintain electrical/electronic systems, circuits, and equipment
- Take appropriate measures to ensure safety in the workplace; attend monthly safety meetings as required
- Notify manager immediately (within 24 hours) of workplace injury and ensure appropriate policies and procedures are followed
- Report potential safety hazards immediately to the manager
Requirements
- Associate's Degree or certificate from an accredited school OR HS Diploma or GED equivalent OR one (1) or more years’ experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Three (3) or more years of experience as an electrician, preferably in an industrial environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and maintain a positive attitude and good organizational skills
- Ability to plan and manage multiple projects
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of low and high-voltage systems
- Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the electrical field
Skills
- Troubleshooting
- Reading blueprints and P&IDs
- Electrical system installation and maintenance
- Conduit fabrication and wiring
- Component assembly (motors, instruments, terminal strips, etc.)
- Workplace safety compliance
Physical Demands
- Lifting, carrying, and moving up to 50 lbs
- Climbing ladders and working at heights
- Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while on site
- High degree of concentration in a busy area
