Job Information
Position: Shop Helper
Travel: Report to York PA Field Service Center
Pay Range: $16-18 per hour; Based on experience
Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) years of experience in construction, mechanic shop or both
- Mechanically inclined, mechanical knowledge
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented
Essential Functions
- Make small repairs on various pieces of construction equipment and trucks
- Aid the yard crew at our Field Service Center as needed with various tasks both outdoors and inside the building and facilities
- Aid the shop mechanic with repairs as advised
- Aid the field mechanics with repairs in the field on construction sites
- Aid the Lube Technician with preventative maintenance services on construction equipment in the shop and on project sites
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds from ground level to waist level
- Must be able to bend, squat, and kneel occasionally throughout a scheduled work shift
- Must be able to climb ladders
- Continuous standing and walking required throughout a scheduled work shift
- Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands
- Must be able to work outdoors in wet, muddy, cold, hot and humid weather
- Acceptable corrected vision (in both eyes) and acceptable corrected hearing required
