Job Information

Position: Shop Helper

Travel: Report to York PA Field Service Center

Pay Range: $16-18 per hour; Based on experience

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one (1) years of experience in construction, mechanic shop or both
  • Mechanically inclined, mechanical knowledge
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented

Essential Functions

  • Make small repairs on various pieces of construction equipment and trucks
  • Aid the yard crew at our Field Service Center as needed with various tasks both outdoors and inside the building and facilities
  • Aid the shop mechanic with repairs as advised
  • Aid the field mechanics with repairs in the field on construction sites
  • Aid the Lube Technician with preventative maintenance services on construction equipment in the shop and on project sites

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds from ground level to waist level
  • Must be able to bend, squat, and kneel occasionally throughout a scheduled work shift
  • Must be able to climb ladders
  • Continuous standing and walking required throughout a scheduled work shift
  • Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands
  • Must be able to work outdoors in wet, muddy, cold, hot and humid weather
  • Acceptable corrected vision (in both eyes) and acceptable corrected hearing required
