Shop Helper 1st shift
About the role
Hayden Industrial, a leading manufacturer of industrial cooling systems, is seeking a Shop Helper to join our team in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Shop Helper is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized manufacturing environment, focusing primarily on housekeeping, sanitation, and facility support duties throughout the shop, warehouse, offices, restrooms, and common areas. The ideal candidate takes pride in keeping the workplace clean and ensuring employees have a safe and professional environment in which to work.
Hayden Industrial has determined this position involves safety-sensitive job duties and will be considered a safety-sensitive position for purpose of the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act (“The Unity Bill.”) effective August 29th, 2019.
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain production areas, shop floors, aisles, and walkways.
- Sweep, mop, scrub, and remove dirt, dust, metal shavings, and debris from manufacturing areas.
- Empty trash and recycling containers throughout the facility and dispose of waste properly.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, conference rooms, and office areas.
- Restock restroom and break room supplies, including paper towels, toilet paper, soap, and other consumables.
- Clean windows, doors, walls, and other facility surfaces as needed.
- Operate floor cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, vacuums, and sweepers after appropriate training.
- Remove scrap materials and assist with maintaining designated waste and recycling areas.
- Maintain cleaning equipment and notify supervisors of needed repairs or supply shortages.
- Assist with shop organization, including arranging materials, pallets, and equipment in designated areas.
- Support facility maintenance and special cleaning projects as assigned.
- Follow all safety procedures when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Report safety hazards, spills, leaks, or maintenance issues immediately.
- Perform other housekeeping and facility support duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous janitorial, housekeeping, custodial, or manufacturing cleaning experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Strong attention to cleanliness and detail.
- Experience using commercial cleaning equipment preferred.
- Knowledge of safe handling procedures for cleaning chemicals is preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Work Environment
Non-temperature controlled environment with loud noises, dust, dirt, and metal particles that are usually associated with metal fabrication shops. All employees are required to wear personal protective equipment to include noise/hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields, (paint masks, respirator, when required) and OSHA compliant safety boots/shoes within the manufacturing facility.

- Regularly required to stand for long periods of time.
- Requires walking, the ability to reach, ascend/descend ladders, bend, kneel, and stoop.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Schedule
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
