Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Implementing Company safety standards, practices, and values through hands on leadership and teamwork
- Holding staff accountable for standard operating procedure compliance
- Implementing “best practices” to improve shop efficiency without sacrificing quality or safety standards
- Developing employees with sufficient mentoring and training to lead them to success
- Executing solid stewardship of assets (employees and equipment) assigned to the department
- Preparing and processing necessary paperwork related to inventory, purchases, scheduling, time keeping, work orders, and other routine shop activities
- Ensuring that the maintenance and repair of the rental fleet, trucks, trailers, and other shop equipment is occurring at the appropriate and required times according to company policy
- Exceeding the budget expectations for the department
- Maintaining a safe, neat, and efficient operations throughout the shop and any prescribed areas of responsibility
- Maximizing labor recovery for shop mechanics through efficient scheduling and monitoring productivity
- Leading by setting a good example to the crews in the areas of Safety and Compliance
- Maintaining and monitoring repair and maintenance parts inventory and stock levels by working with vendors and operations manager
- Participating in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
- Directing job assignments for all mechanics and supervise daily activities of pump shop and field maintenance, repairs & troubleshooting
- Able to safely operate and drive service truck and fork truck to tow/move various trailers or equipment into place
- Supervise/direct the selection, training, development, appraisal, and work assignments of mechanics
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a mechanic or similar role. Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to operate a service truck and fork truck. Must have a good working knowledge of all tools and equipment required to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel and gasoline engines, pumps and other branch equipment.
