SHOP FLOOR SUPERVISOR (GB)

Functions

• Manage, develop, mentor, and train employees.
• Direct and coordinate production activities to maximize equipment and manpower efficiencies.
• Queue jobs for production based on due dates and assembly requirements.
• Cookinate the daily activities of production staff to ensure appropriate coverage, work instructions are provided if needed and information required to perform tasks are provided.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in the manufacturing process.
• Resolve daily production concerns including equipment setup, nonconforming parts, and equipment maintenance.
• Support and drive improvements through corrective actions and continuous improvement.
• Support quoting process. Provide input and ideas towards parts and projects to assist in providing the most competitive price.
• Cookordinate production schedule with the Operations Manager.
• Monitor availability of materials required to meet production schedule.
• Ensure that work is being performed in accordance to the job requirements and that all safety and ISO procedures are being followed.
• Support Lean Initiatives.
• Communicate with Sales Department to expedite job orders and resolve concerns including quality, specifications, and delivery deadlines.
• Provide support to maintenance technicians in the up-keep of equipment and maintenance records.
• Research and recommend the purchase of capital equipment including a cost analysis when needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Production Management, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in a similar role.
• Experience in managing and training employees.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of ISO standards and quality management systems.
