Shop Crane Technician

This position is located at the Ankeny, IA branch for MGX Equipment Services and reports to the Service Manager.

Sign-on Bonus & Programs

• $4,500 sign-on bonus, payable after 90 days of continuous service
• Eligible for the Tool Reimbursement Program of up to $1,500 per calendar year

Responsibilities

• Under the guidance of the Service Manager and other shop technicians, assumes basic job assignments to learn the responsibilities of a Shop Crane Technician
• Helps shop technicians perform inspections and repairs
• Inspects tools and equipment to ensure they are in working order
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Experience as a general laborer or yard worker within the construction or heavy equipment industry preferred
• Mechanical background and related experience with electrical and hydraulics
• Self-starter with the initiative to advance
• Ability and desire to provide excellent customer service
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
• May be required to travel to other locations for cross-training

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position with typical working hours between 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. Overtime and weekend work may be possible based on business conditions.

• Exposure to elements such as extreme temperatures and various weather conditions, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises
• Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Frequent lifting and/or moving of up to 40 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Pay

This position offers a pay range between $21.00 - $30.00 per hour depending on skills and qualifications for non-bargaining employees. Pay is provided on a bi-weekly basis and there are 14 days in the pay period, beginning on a Monday and ending on a Sunday.
