Shop Crane Technician
MGX Shop Crane Technicians are responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of various crane equipment including mobile cranes and boom trucks. This position is located at the Dallas, Texas branch and reports to the Branch Manager.
Responsibilities
- Operate and perform thorough inspection of cranes to diagnose defects.
- Diagnose, repair, and troubleshoot various mobile hydraulic and lattice cranes; repair hydraulic and electrical components.
- Examine parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges.
- Read, understand, and interpret operating and parts manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Test mechanical, electronic, electrical, and hydraulic products and equipment after repair or modification to ensure proper operation and compliance with OEM specifications.
- Prepare for jobs by checking parts and drawings for accuracy and completeness.
- Perform thorough and accurate annual inspections.
- Properly fill out working reports, hours reports, time sheets, hours overviews, and expense reports.
- Accomplish tasks independently without direct supervision.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Crane Mechanic/Technician.
- Experience working with different forms of mobile crane equipment, specifically Grove RT & TMS Cranes; Grove GMK European Cranes; Manitowoc EPIC and/or Traditional Cranes; National Boom Trucks preferred.
- Ability to read both electrical and hydraulic schematics.
- Excellent communication skills with a customer/client focus.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record preferred.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
- Required to purchase a full set of hand tools up to 1.5 inches.

Schedule
This is a full-time position with typical working hours between 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. Overtime and weekend work may be possible based on business conditions.
