Shop Combo Welder

About the role

At H+M Industrial EPC the Shop Combo Welder plays a vital role in our fabrication operations, using TIG, MIG, and Fluxcore welding techniques to produce high‑quality welds essential for project success. This position supports our mission to deliver safe, reliable, and precise welded components by ensuring that all work meets strict quality standards and aligns with project specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG, MIG, and Fluxcore welding techniques on various metal types and thicknesses.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
• Set up and adjust welding equipment to appropriate configurations for each project.
• Conduct visual inspections of welds to ensure quality and accuracy per company standards.
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure project deadlines are met.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a combo welder with a focus on TIG, MIG, and Fluxcore welding.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience working in a fabrication shop.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
• Familiarity with safety standards and personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Good eye‑hand coordination and physical fitness.
• Good sense of balance and ability to work at heights.

Physical Requirements

• Stand or walk for long periods of time.
• Talk and hear to communicate.
• Use arms and hands to signal, reach for, handle or manipulate objects, materials, and tools.
• Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lb; occasionally lift items over 50 lb with assistance.
• Work in all weather conditions (heat, rain, cold, wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.
• Stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing stairs.
• See well (naturally or with correction).

Work Environment

• Extreme heat.
• Noise level above 89 decibels.
• Wetness/humidity.
• Cramped quarters.
• Outdoor work.
• Employees must provide their own tools; a detailed tool list is provided during onboarding.

Schedule

Standard schedule is Monday through Friday. Weekends on an as‑needed basis.
