Shipyard Trainee

About the role

Participate in a 3-4 week, paid, hands-on training program designed to teach the basics of shipyard work and outfitting techniques. You will learn safety protocols, assist in welding and fitting tasks under supervision, and engage in continuous skill development to prepare for future opportunities within the company.

Responsibilities

• Learn and apply safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
• Assist in various welding and fitting tasks and projects under the guidance of the Training Manager.
• Engage in continuous learning and skill development.

Requirements

• Basic mechanical aptitude (must be able to complete a basic aptitude written test).
• Strong reading and comprehension skills.
• Willingness to learn and improve skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Schedule

Monday–Thursday: 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Friday: 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in outdoor conditions subject to extreme heat and cold.
• Ability to enter and work in confined spaces.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crawl, lift, and climb ladders.
• Ability to work in high places.
• Must adhere to company attendance policies, including regular and punctual attendance.
