Shipyard Logistician Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an industrial warehouse/office assistant to join our full-time team. The position involves delivering and picking up materials, shipping, receiving, handling, and maintaining calibration services and hazmat logs, tool issue maintenance, and storage logs. This role supports multiple Navy installations across the United States coastal areas.

Responsibilities

• Log and maintain all tooling needing calibration services, hazmat logs, tool issue, tool maintenance, and storage logs for all tooling and material.
• Create and maintain inventory logs.
• Handle all shipping and receiving, inventory all items.
• Prepare material for all team members and tasks.
• Research material needed for tasking.
• Work with R&P employees for proper tool/material issue and return.
• Ensure thorough knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines.
• Be flexible with scheduling and support due to Navy movements.
• Work a schedule Monday through Friday, 40 hours, with flexibility to work weekends as needed.
• Be punctual and reliable.
• Show excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Have excellent physical condition capable of lifting 50 pounds independently.
• Able to obtain and maintain Navy DBIDS security credentials.
• Able to qualify and maintain a security clearance.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.

• First and foremost, a responsible individual with great attention to safety precautions and ISO 9001.
• Willingness to learn different kinds of tools, materials, and test equipment.
• Excellent driving record.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Navy DBIDS security credentials.
• Able to qualify and maintain a security clearance.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.

Qualifications

• OSHA 10 required or willing to obtain.

Skills

• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
• Excellent physical condition with the ability to lift 50 pounds on your own.
