We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Specialist to join our team in Independence, MO. The Logistics Specialist will coordinate and manage the efficient movement of goods, materials, and products, ensuring compliance with shipping regulations and maintaining a customer-focused approach.
Responsibilities
- Schedule shipments and select transportation services for materials and products, prioritizing cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
- Calculate international export, domestic freight rates, and other shipping charges using rate tables and tariff regulations.
- Review shipping bills, classify freight according to rate books, and ensure proper documentation based on shipment nature.
- Track shipments, handle urgent rerouting or special deliveries, and calculate additional charges such as storage or redelivery.
- Prepare shipping documents for hazardous or oversized items, ensuring compliance with regulations based on hazard class and shipping requirements.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office, with demonstrated Excel proficiency.
- Strong self-starter with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business results.
- Demonstrated customer service skills.
- Ability to understand and apply complex government shipping regulations.
- Valid US Driver’s License.
- Must be eligible for access to ITAR controlled technical data, contingent upon approval of an export license by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls if required.
- Must pass vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
- Must pass vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship (e.g., no temporary visas such as E, F-1, H-1, H-2, L, B, J, or TN).

$67,800–80,700 per year.
