Shipyard Laborer - Norfolk, VA

About the Role

You will join a dynamic team supporting U.S. Naval ships in Norfolk, VA. The position involves performing general manual labor, fabricating and assembling electromechanical and electronic assemblies, and ensuring safe, quality work on‑board naval vessels and military installations.

Responsibilities

• Perform general manual labor including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving supplies and materials.
• Act as a fire watch and welder’s helper.
• Install electric cable as needed.
• Work under immediate supervision, typically reporting to a supervisor or manager.
• Fabricate, assemble, and install various electromechanical and electronic assemblies on‑board U.S. Naval ships and military installations.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
• U.S. citizenship.
• Availability to work second or third shift as needed and more than 40 hours per week.
• Ability to commute to Newport News, VA as needed.
• Pass a background investigation and drug screening.
• Ability to travel up to 10 % of the time.
