About the role

Are you looking to get into the Shipyard industry? Serco is looking for Shipyard Laborers to join a high-profile and challenging project supporting the US Navy. Shipyard Laborers will be on a dynamic team, supporting our C5ISR system installations. Bring your expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact towards our military defense and safety of our Sailors.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general manual labor including loading, unloading, lifting and moving supplies and materials.
  • Work as a fire watch and welder’s helper as needed.
  • Install electric cable when required.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or GED.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • The ability to obtain and gain access to shipyards (NAVSTA & DBIDS), undergo a background investigation, and pass a drug screening.
  • The ability to work second shift and willing to work more than 40 hours per week.
  • The ability to travel up to 10% to different shipyards in Norfolk and/or Chesapeake.
