Shipping Supervisor/MPC

The Opportunity

Canfor is seeking a Shipping Supervisor with industrial experience to join their team in DeRidder, LA. This role involves coordinating shipments and supervising production employees.

Key Responsibilities

• Determine and meet daily/weekly shipping requirements while maintaining target inventories
• Achieve and exceed key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety, quality, cost, delivery, and employee engagement
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and company policies across all personnel
• Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration with other team members
• Work with production employees to drive productivity, quality, and operational excellence

The Candidate

• Minimum Grade 12 education with preference for post-secondary education
• Supervisory experience in the sawmill industry
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and willingness to learn new programs
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a unionized work environment
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Adaptable to new situations and able to meet deadlines
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Basic knowledge of mobile equipment may be beneficial
