Shipping Supervisor
Job Details
Our esteemed manufacturing organization is seeking a seasoned, dynamic, and energetic individual to join our team as a Permanent Shipping Supervisor. This role is pivotal to our operations and is responsible for the overall efficiency and effectiveness of all shipping activities.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing and coordinating the daily shipping and receiving operations, ensuring all products are shipped and delivered in a timely and efficient manner.
- Supervising and managing shipping personnel, fostering a team-oriented environment that encourages growth, development, and high performance.
- Ensuring compliance with all shipping procedures and regulations, including safety standards and protocols.
- Collaborating with other departments, such as production and sales, to optimize shipping and delivery schedules.
- Analyzing shipping data to identify efficiencies and areas for improvement, and implementing strategies to optimize shipping processes.
- Managing relationships with logistics service providers, negotiating contracts and rates to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Handling customer inquiries and complaints related to shipping, providing excellent customer service and resolving issues promptly and professionally.
- Maintaining accurate records of all shipping activities, including tracking information, shipping costs, and delivery timelines.
- Conducting regular performance reviews, providing feedback and coaching to improve team performance and efficiency.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a shipping or logistics role, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
- In-depth knowledge of shipping procedures and regulations, including international shipping.
- Proven experience in managing and leading a team, with strong leadership and motivational skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with team members, customers, and external partners.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and other related computer applications.
- A bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
