About the role
Assist the Director of Distribution in ensuring the safe, efficient and timely operation of the Shipping Department and Transport department, and oversee the implementation, operation, and maintenance of automated shipping systems. The position impacts product safety, legality, and quality.
Responsibilities
- Carry out policies established by company officials and policy manuals.
- Ensure shipping employees are properly instructed in the care and safe operation of equipment.
- Direct and oversee activities of Shipping Supervisors, third‑party transport providers, and shipping employees.
- Function as Distribution Manager in his/her absence.
- Ensure products received from Production and other plants are properly handled and shipped on schedule.
- Ensure sales department and affiliated companies receive ordered products on schedule.
- Assist in recruiting qualified personnel for shipping and transport needs.
- Develop and maintain good employee relations.
- Maintain safety programs, safe operating procedures, and monitor employee compliance.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area.
- Assist Distribution Manager in compliance with Federal Motor Carrier safety regulations.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures (EEO, Sarbanes‑Oxley, Sexual Harassment, Safety, etc.).
- Perform other duties as directed by supervision, including fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency.
- Completion of a formal management skills training program.
- Two (2) or more years experience as a transport driver or supervisor.
- Two (2) years experience as a Shipping Supervisor.

Pay
Salary range: $70,500.00 – $92,475.60, plus a competitive total rewards package.
