About the role

This position is responsible for monitoring and managing the receiving and shipping activities within the warehouse to ensure customer service levels are met. It involves coordinating with carriers, vendors, and other departments to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain records of all incoming shipments, including item descriptions, quantities, and any discrepancies noted during inspection.
  • Ensure daily compliance with the receiving schedule.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, contacting carriers, sales reps, vendors, brokers, freight forwarders, etc., as needed.
  • Verify deliveries according to order and invoices, ensuring accuracy in quantity, quality, and price.
  • Resolve errors and customer complaints, implementing effective corrective measures.
  • Analyze and document system process flow, recommending and developing better solutions for process improvement and expense reduction.
  • Develop written procedures to document processes and assist in training.
  • Use basic computer applications for item inquiries, order organization, receiving transactions, invoicing, etc., to process shipments.
  • Prepare and print shipping labels according to shipment needs.
  • Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements.
  • Reconcile inbound deliveries and allocate them to designated locations.
  • Maintain quality and effective communication between internal and external customers, leadership, and quality.
  • Legibly complete required inspections, written, and electronic reports.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and other plant continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Recommend and assist with implementing continuous improvement ideas.
  • Comply with safety requirements, GMP requirements, and SOPs/WIs for work area.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area; update and replenish supplies as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with five years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing GMP and distribution environments, preferably in food and/or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Knowledge and experience in Code of Federal Regulations (CFR 49).

  • Strong knowledge of receiving area to make decisions on inbound receivables ensuring orders are received in compliance with SOP’s.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently meet quality, safety, and efficiency goals.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to effectively communicate with team members from various departments.
  • Demonstrates high quality of work.
  • Strong time management skills: ability to prioritize and calmly manage multiple tasks simultaneously to meet targets in a demanding environment.
  • Demonstrates a keen sense of urgency and flexibility to change tasks frequently based on business needs.
  • Leadership qualities: acts as a role model on the floor, and models NOW’s core values and tenets.
  • Ability to work as a Material Handler I or Material Handler II.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Oracle.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends to support the business needs.

Pay
