Responsibilities

  • Establish work priorities and assign tasks based on inbound schedules, production requirements, outbound commitments, and available labor.
  • Maintain an organized central storage operation for production units, purchased material, work-in-process, and finished or partially completed product.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing plants, Production, Planning, Purchasing, Program Management, and Transportation to ensure material is delivered when needed.
  • Confirm material and units are identified, labeled, stored in assigned locations, and protected from damage, loss, and deterioration.
  • Verify inbound quantities, condition, packing slips, and supporting documentation; promptly escalate shortages, overages, damage, or identification issues.
  • Verify outbound and interplant shipments for correct job, unit, quantity, documentation, packaging, labeling, and destination before release.
  • Maintain accurate and timely system transactions for receipts, inventory moves, transfers, staging, and shipments.
  • Lead daily housekeeping, aisle control, rack discipline, material segregation, and safe storage practices.
  • Supervise, train, coach, schedule, and cross-train warehouse personnel; reinforce standard work and accountability.
  • Monitor performance using practical operating measures such as receiving accuracy, inventory accuracy, transaction timeliness, damage, and on-time material delivery.
  • Investigate inventory and material movement discrepancies, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Operate a Hi-Lo to load, unload, stage, relocate, and deliver material when required, including coverage during volume peaks or staffing gaps.
  • Ensure required pre-use equipment inspections are completed and equipment concerns are reported and addressed.
  • Support warehouse layout, storage capacity planning, visual controls, and continuous improvement as the Waterford operation expands.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support Shipping and Receiving and manufacturing operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in logistics, supply chain, operations, or a related field preferred.
  • Five or more years of shipping, receiving, warehouse, material handling, or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Two or more years of lead or supervisory experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or industrial environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate a sit-down industrial forklift/Hi-Lo safely and proficiently; current certification preferred, with ability to complete company-required qualification.
  • Working knowledge of receiving, storage, inventory control, order staging, interplant transfers, bills of lading, packing slips, and shipping documentation.
  • Experience using an ERP, inventory, warehouse, or material tracking system; proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize changing requirements, resolve issues quickly, and communicate clearly across departments and locations.
