Shipping & Receiving Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily shipping and receiving operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of all shipments.
• Manage and train a team of shipping and receiving staff, including DOT truck drivers, providing guidance and support to enhance productivity.
• Cook up and maintain safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
• Coordinate with various departments to ensure seamless logistics and inventory management.
• Maintain accurate shipping and receiving documentation, including bills of lading and packing lists.
• Resolve any shipping discrepancies or issues in a timely manner to maintain customer satisfaction.
• Conduct regular audits of shipping and receiving processes to identify areas for improvement.
• Ensures vehicles and drivers are DOT compliant as well as maintaining vehicle maintenance reports.
• Acts as a backup DOT driver when needed.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent; an associate's degree or higher preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in shipping and receiving, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• A strong understanding of logistics, including DOT regulations, and inventory management principles.
• Experience with international shipment requirements.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Proficiency in using shipping software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• You should be proficient in DOT Medical Card, Shipping/Receiving, Warehouse Experience, and Experience in a Manufacturing Environment.
• Knowledge of UPS WorldShip is beneficial.
