Barnes Aerospace West Chester division is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Clerk to support material flow throughout the plant.

About the role

The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and perform a variety of duties that support material flow.

Schedule

1st shift, Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Checks, verifies, and records required information on planning, shipping, and receiving documents, including dimensional checks where appropriate.
  • Communicates significant problems and/or deviations to the responsible person with corrective action for concurrence and resolution.
  • Orders packaging materials.
  • Ships customer gauging, tooling, and fixturing.
  • Packages finished product and prepares shipping documents to support the flow in and out of the facility.
  • Performs cycle counting and coordinates the annual physical inventory.
  • Processes all material returns from customers and suppliers.
  • Delivers and picks up parts from customers and suppliers.
  • Operates a forklift.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work area at all times.
  • May perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Forklift experience required.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of physicality for prolonged periods and work primarily standing.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment with empowered decision-makers.
  • Proficiency in operating a computer and tape sealer.
  • Good mathematical and computer skills.
  • Ability to schedule and organize time and tasks effectively.
  • High integrity and ethical standards.
  • Professional and effective communication with all levels of employees, customers, and vendors.
  • Ability to work in a challenging, schedule-driven environment.
  • Maintains a positive, cooperative attitude and is flexible in response to rapid market changes.

This position may include access to controlled information or technology subject to U.S. export control laws.
