Responsibilities

• Pack orders according to customer requirements, including banding, weighing, and wrapping shipments.
• Stage finished orders for loading.
• Pull and move parts by matching move and reel tags; document move tags as necessary.
• Make bar codes and attach them to boxes per customer requirements.
• Load and unload trucks.
• Operate Hi-Lo truck.
• Construct boxes.
• Perform visual inspection before packaging product for the customer.
• Put away incoming plating/audit parts.
• Perform weight counts and adjust inventory as necessary.
• Stock cardboard and incoming parts/material.
• Compact discarded packing/shipping material (boxes, etc.).
• Conduct inventory of boxes and reels.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area.
• Use independent judgment in packing, stacking, and arranging shipments, and prioritize jobs.
• Use personal computers to process reports, retrieve selected information, and enter data.
• Comply with all Environment, Health, and Safety (EH&S) rules and procedures.
• Perform other duties related to shipping and receiving as required by supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of arithmetic is required.
• Basic skills in oral and written communication.
• Ability to pass OSHA Hi-Lo test; possession of Hi-Lo license required.
• Basic understanding of personal computers.

Working Conditions

Physical Demands:

• Lifting packages up to 70 pounds.
• Walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, and occasional crouching.

Environmental Conditions:

• Subject to plant environment conditions, including cramped spaces, loud noise, and exposure to oil.
• Exposure to Hi-Lo traffic, battery chargers, possible cuts from material tail and banding, and occasional wet or slippery dock plates.

Pay

Start rate: $22.39 per hour.

Evaluations and Training

• Shipping and Receiving trainee evaluations will be made on a weekly basis.
• Training will follow a structured training plan.
• 60-day qualification period.
