Shipping Material Technician I
About the role
Handle and distribute materials from the shipping department, conduct inventory, manage shipments and supplies throughout the plant and warehouse. Pack wooden/overpack boxes and load customer orders onto trucks for shipment. Operate industrial lift truck equipment safely and proficiently.
Responsibilities
- Pick and pack parts for production areas and stock parts in warehouse locations.
- Ship/receive outgoing and incoming materials.
- Pick and pack medium and large packs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and maintain equipment accordingly.
- Comply with safety requirements and company policies.
- Complete production and quality assurance forms.
- Participate in team meetings and group discussions.
- Engage in continuous improvement activities or events as required.
- Adhere to Quality Management System Requirements.
- Read and comprehend procedures written in English.
- Operate a forklift about 30% of the time.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or GED.
- 1+ years in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- 2+ years of forklift experience preferred.
- Ability to operate a computer to read and input data.
- Able to work overtime.
- Able to work 1st Shift.
Qualifications
- $19/hr starting wage.
- Ability to think critically and troubleshoot problems.
- Ability to pick and large pack.
