Shipping Manager
Description
The Shipping Manager at Smurfit Westrock will oversee shipping functions, manage shipments, and provide leadership to shipping personnel. Key responsibilities include scheduling and managing inbound and outbound loads, maximizing trailer utilization, preparing reports, coordinating courier rates, and ensuring on-time delivery and customer service.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, Associates or Bachelor’s preferred
- 3+ years of production leadership experience
- 3+ years of logistics/industrial/shipping experience
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage tasks effectively
- Aptitude to calculate estimated costs associated with shipping/delivery functions
- Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, utilize appropriate safety equipment, and report unsafe conditions
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with other managers, staff, and vendors
- Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills
Qualifications
