ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- UNLOADING CHEMICALS/FILLER
- Loads will be weighed in prior to unloading
- Ensure contents will fit into designated storage tanks
- Hoses are connected between trailer and plant piping
- Samples are taken to QC for verification
- Once unloading is complete, hoses are removed, pumps flushed, and area is cleaned
- INBOUND TRUCKS
- The truck bumps the dock and after securing the trailer, rolls are taken off the truck
- Each roll is scanned as they are being unloaded from the truck and before they are placed in the warehouse
- Ensure product is good quality and no damage as it is stored
- Report any damage to the Shipping Manager immediately
- Proper paperwork must be maintained for all loading/unloading processes
- Maintain housekeeping around docks and warehouse
- Loading
- Drop trailers may need to be moved to the loading dock using the yard truck
- The truck bumps the dock and after securing the trailer, verify with driver the order number and/or destination
- Use computer to pull the order/pick plan
- Get the Tare Weight from Shipping Manager
- Load the rolls on cradles and/or blocking as needed
- Maximize the shipping weight without exceeding the DOT maximum
- Pick plans/ roll numbers are transferred to Shipping Manager for completion of BOL
- Maintain housekeeping around docks and warehouse
- BACK UP SHIPPING MANAGER
- Utilizing various software to receive all incoming raw materials as well as MRO supplies
- Communicate via email/text messages with Customer Service, Shipping Manager, Freight Dispatchers, etc. about loads and preloads
- Send loads to our TMS system as well as ship loads within our shipping dashboard
- Print bills and have drivers sign
- Scanned previous day shipments to Customer Service each morning
- Release orders in PeopleSoft
- Book trucks as needed
- Create B/L for scrap trucks
- Send/Print shipping documents to Guard House
- Answer phone calls
- Communicate with the other Atlas loaders
- Attention to detail (verifying bills have correct trailer number and seal number)
- Check raw glass delivery bill and export them within our system
- Must have computer knowledge
- Organization: Must have sound organizational and mathematical skills in order to process job related data and in relation to work area materials and equipment.
- Communication: Ability to provide relevant and timely information in a clear manner to coworkers and supervision.

- Tools: Must be able to accurately read and use a tape measure.
- Specialized Skills: Must be able to pass forklift operators test and safely operate a forklift.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Some overtime as needed.
