Shipping Group Lead - PRIMELINE (MON-FRI)
About the role
The Shipping Group Lead assists the logistics manager, managers, and department supervisors to achieve daily department goals and provides administrative support to the shipping department. They ensure accurate and timely processing of products to be shipped.
Responsibilities
- Train new and incumbent employees on all procedures, policies, and job skills needed to successfully perform their job.
- Be a positive role model. Foster an atmosphere of harmony and cooperation within shipping and other departments.
- Accurately complete paperwork for carriers and bills of lading.
- Prioritize the day's work according to department guidelines.
- Create UPS WorldShip and FedEx labels.
- Maintain open communication with logistics manager, informing them of employee concerns, safety issues, suggestions, or matters that may jeopardize the shipping department's goals.
- Assign employees to tasks according to daily department needs.
- Under the guidance of your manager, adjust resources to support changes in business volume.
- Assure work area is well organized, safe, and clean.
- Assure accuracy of cartons being shipped.
- Assure that all supplies and tools are readily available for employees.
- Utilize Netsuite and a warehouse management system to research and resolve task-oriented issues.
- Maintain data and generate department reports.
- Maintain open communication with other Leads to coordinate daily tasks.
- Perform all department tasks.
Requirements
- Flexibility with schedule; available to work overtime.
- Strong oral communication skills.
- Good written communication skills.
- Physical agility and stamina to stand, walk, bend and lift (up to 60 pounds).
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of warehouse systems.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Good math and reading skills.
- Strong organizational skills; must be able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a warehouse or similar environment preferred.
- Experience with warehouse management systems and carrier software preferred.

Commensurate with experience.
Schedule
Monday - Friday (FIRST SHIFT), Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Working Environment
The job will be performed entirely in the warehouse where conditions can range from warm to cool. The job will be performed around warehouse machines and equipment with a moderate level of noise. Employee must be able to work in a high-volume, high-demand environment while meeting strenuous customer deadlines. Employee must be able to change priorities or job duties as needed and interact with employees at all levels.
