Shipping Fork Truck Operator

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Shipping Fork Truck Operator to join our team at International Paper/Winchester Sheets / DS Smith Packaging. The role involves loading and unloading trucks, managing stock, and ensuring accurate shipping/warehouse paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads trucks
• Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials
• Stretch wraps products as needed
• Locates and moves stock of products onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting devices for storage or shipment
• Continuously moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus
• Inventories materials on work floor and supplies workers with materials as needed
• Weighs materials or products and records weight on tags, labels, or production schedules
• Lubricates fork truck, recharges batteries, fills fuel tank, or replaces liquefied gas tank
• Ensures all shipping/warehouse paperwork ticket numbers are recorded accurately
• Completes pre-inspections and fills out forms
• Inspects bales, identifies damages, and reports shortages or quality deficiencies
• Receives forklift drivers' signatures on delivery receipts when trucks are unloaded
• Helps maintain a safe and orderly environment
• Performs other duties as directed

Requirements

• Skilled and certified to drive a forklift (OSHA certification required)
• At least two (2) years of previous forklift experience
• Possess basic computer skills and proficiency in our ERP system
• Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment
• Ability to read a tape measure
• Organizational skills

Pay

$20.00/hr ($23.00/hr after probation period)
