Shipping Coordinator
INTRODUCTION: This position reports to Logistics Manager. It is solely accountable for the fulfillment of all assigned duties and has authority delegated commensurate with assigned responsibilities.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Prepare and process packing slips, bills of lading, ASNs, and shipping documentation.
- Cookout outbound shipments with approved carriers.
- Schedule pickups and deliveries using transportation management systems and carrier portals.
- Generate and apply customer-specific barcode labels.
- Monitor shipment status and proactively communicate delays.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and inventory transaction documentation.
- Collaborate with Customer Service regarding order status, shipment schedules, and customer requirements.
- Aid with continuous improvement initiatives related to logistics and shipping processes.
- Aid with any assigned 5S & LEAN housekeeping initiatives.
- Assist with any additional duties that may be assigned and those that are logically and properly inherent to this position.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field desired.
- 1–3 years of shipping, logistics, customer service, or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems preferred.
- Experience in creating shipping documentation and working with transportation carriers preferred.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Completion of Information Security Training required.
- Ability to gain knowledge of company products.
- Comply with quality, environmental, safety and JOST company policies and procedures.
Physical Requirements
- Work is generally performed in an office setting (80%) and warehouse setting (20%) to gather required information, take measurements, etc.
- Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to occasionally walk throughout office and manufacturing areas.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
