About the role
We are seeking a Shipping Coordinator to join our dynamic team! This position will focus on quality product delivery to our customers. Responsibilities
- Adhere to IACUC and AAALAC Guides.
- Maintain accurate inventory by performing inventory transactions, weekly cycle counts, and maintaining records of the perpetual barrier animal inventory using the inventory control system.
- Process all customer orders and associated documentation, working with the Customer Service Department and/or production personnel to ensure orders are accurately and timely processed.
- Prepare order documentation at the beginning of the process, including pick lists and box labels or other documents as required, and review them for accuracy prior to shipping.
- Allocate, prioritize, and distribute orders within the production area.
- Prepare, maintain, and share shipping schedules, coordinating this activity with barrier management.
- Communicate shipping needs, issues, and concerns to barrier management.
- Participate in weekly Production Meetings, focusing on meeting and level-setting production goals.
- Communicate between barriers to support inventory requirements and troubleshoot order fill issues.
- Regularly review best offers and lost orders with the barrier team to develop action plans addressing issues or trends.
- Participate in the investigation and root cause analysis of deviations related to the order fulfillment process in the complaint management system.
- Train backup team member(s) to support day-to-day shipping and inventory requirements to cover in your absence.
- Create user guides and/or reference documents as needed to support accurate order fulfillment.
- Coordinate area Health Monitoring/Sentinel Schedule and Genetic Testing program with the Technical Service Department and Geneticist, including completing necessary paperwork and submitting it to the laboratory.
- Assist with sample collection as directed.
- Answer order inquiries and requests for animals not on inventory.
- Process customer orders via email and inventory control systems, including:
- Entering inventories and wean-to-stock in JDE.
- Removing animals from inventory using the Inventory Daily Loss Sheet in JDE.
- Daily checking of timed pregnant mated orders in JDE.
- Entering Timed Pregnant Day 0’s onto Inventory Available in JDE.
- Entering Prewean Sales in JDE.
- Entering Mother with Litter Sales in JDE.
- Print and distribute Inventory worksheets, route reports, and Inventory Daily Loss sheets.
- Participate in operational process improvement changes using Lean/6 Sigma techniques and promote a continuous improvement environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on occasion.
- Ability to stand/walk on concrete for at least 2 hours at a time.
- Frequent bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, squatting, and lifting.
- Proficiency in English communication: reading, writing, and oral.
Qualifications
This position may be offered at different levels based on a combination of advanced education and/or years of experience. The salary range will adjust accordingly to match the candidate’s relevant experience and/or education level.
