Shipping Coordinator
About the role
The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all aspects of shipping products to customers and internal transfers. Will plan, schedule, execute shipping activities and ensure timely, accurate and compliant delivery of products.
Primary Responsibilities
- Processes small part & LTL shipments, processing in timely and accurate manner
- Understand the logistics process and procedure
- Maintains monitoring of age and status of open freight shipments and follow-up on issues as needed
- Fills and processes paperwork in accordance with the established procedures
- Schedules trucks through systems such as SAP and TMS
- Keeps accurate records on outgoing shipments
- Works closely with other departments to ensure timely shipments of all products and accurate tracking in operation system
- Prepares shipments including taking pictures, writing Bill of Lading/s (BOL) and other required documentation
- Aids shipping carriers in tracking and shipment information
Education
- High School diploma or GED
Knowledge/Training
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent organization and administrative skills
- Customer service skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to operate warehouse machinery such as forklifts
- Detail oriented and the ability to multitask
- Knowledge of warehouse operation systems such as SAP or similar
- Knowledge of LTL and dedicated services
- Problem solving skills and a desire for continuous improvement
Experience
- 1-3 years shipping experience in a warehouse environment.
