Shipping and Receiving Inspector

Responsibilities

• Prepares, processes, and distributes daily shipment documentation for all facets of inbound and outbound materials and products
• Verifies physical counts against documentation to assure accuracy of goods received
• Ensures received materials are put away in proper location and updates JDE to reflect the change
• Affords assistance in Quality Control procedures including checking for required certificates for received shipments and completing incoming inspection procedures specified for each material
• Removes paperwork from delivered materials/packages and enters data into JDE
• Mark, labels, weighs, and packs products in preparation for storing/shipping
• Stages orders and materials for loading/shipping
• Sorts shipments by freight line
• Closes orders for truck shipments
• Performs cycle counts for purchased and produced materials in all inventory locations
• Loads and unloads materials and product from trucks using a forklift as needed

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or demonstrated ability to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations at a high school level
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 70 lbs
• Ability to do other duties as assigned
• Ability to pass forklift certification written exam and driving demonstration
• Ability to obtain D.O.T. training certification for signing waste hauler manifest, shipping and receiving hazardous and non-hazardous products
• Ability to communicate effectively and work in a cooperative manner to support a team environment

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in any field
• 1 – 3 years consistent work experience in any field
• Prior forklift certification
• Experience with ERP systems (JDE)
