Shipping and Receiving Inspector
Responsibilities
- Prepares, processes, and distributes daily shipment documentation for all facets of inbound and outbound materials and products
- Verifies physical counts against documentation to assure accuracy of goods received
- Ensures received materials are put away in proper location and updates JDE to reflect the change
- Affords assistance in Quality Control procedures including checking for required certificates for received shipments and completing incoming inspection procedures specified for each material
- Removes paperwork from delivered materials/packages and enters data into JDE
- Mark, labels, weighs, and packs products in preparation for storing/shipping
- Stages orders and materials for loading/shipping
- Sorts shipments by freight line
- Closes orders for truck shipments
- Performs cycle counts for purchased and produced materials in all inventory locations
- Loads and unloads materials and product from trucks using a forklift as needed
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or demonstrated ability to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations at a high school level
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 70 lbs
- Ability to do other duties as assigned
- Ability to pass forklift certification written exam and driving demonstration
- Ability to obtain D.O.T. training certification for signing waste hauler manifest, shipping and receiving hazardous and non-hazardous products
- Ability to communicate effectively and work in a cooperative manner to support a team environment
Qualifications
- Associates Degree in any field
- 1 – 3 years consistent work experience in any field
- Prior forklift certification
- Experience with ERP systems (JDE)
