Receiving Inspector 2 (Shipping/Receiving))

About the role

This role involves inspecting raw materials and purchased parts to ensure they conform to design requirements. It also includes identifying and documenting non-conforming parts, performing statistical process control and quality control, assisting in root cause analysis, and maintaining inspection records.

Responsibilities

• Identify and document non-conforming parts, while using Oracle to maintain inspection records.
• Inspect all raw materials and purchased parts to determine conformance to design requirements.
• Use statistical process control and statistical quality control techniques as required.
• Perform job responsibilities according to internal process specifications and third-party requirements.
• Absorb and communicate information about product deficiencies, new processes, or issues to team members.
• Report problems to appropriate resources and/or coaches.
• Proactively work to improve efficiency and quality of products.
• Participate in and support team initiatives.
• Utilize proper personal protective equipment (PPE), safety equipment, and follow safety procedures.
• Understand and abide by the GE Behaviors.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
• 1 year experience in a Manufacturing environment.
• Ability and willingness to use basic hand tools and measuring devices as required within department.
• Ability and willingness to obtain Braze, Weld, and Solder inspection certification as required.
• Ability and willingness to pass visual acuity exam.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability and willingness to learn Blueprint interpretation, electrical inspection, mechanical inspection, and procedural knowledge assessments completed.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years Inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic knowledge of Quality System requirements (AS9100).
• Basic understanding of special process operations (e.g., brazing / soldering / welding / coating, etc.) as required within department.
• Basic knowledge of electrical components and test methods.
• Basic knowledge in Receiving, Electrical, or Mechanical Inspection.
• Potential assembly, solder, or electronics manufacturing experience.
• Experience in a self-directed team environment.
• Familiarity with 5S & lean manufacturing knowledge.

Skills

• Ability to continuously use hands and fingers in repetition.
• Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, twist, crouch, squat, climb, and/or balance.
• Ability to continuously sit; ability to occasionally lift to 60 lbs.; ability to push/pull up to 22 lbs.

Pay

The pay for this position is $23/hr. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan.

Schedule

This role may encounter high risk or hazardous operations, working with chemicals, and/or include working shifts beyond a standard workweek. As such, a requirement of the role is to be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining.
