Shipping and Receiving Clerk- New Philly, OH.

Verify all incoming and occasional outgoing shipments and verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records and check packages for damages prior to signing BOL.
Once packing slips are processed by Inventory Control verify correct parts are received and put stock items in correct storage locations.
Place customer parts on proper Driver’s shelf or place in Will Call.
Determine method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
Affix shipping label on packed cartons, or stencil identifying shipping information on cartons.
Insert items into containers, using spacers, fillers, and protective padding to guard against damages.
Nail covers on wooden crates and bind containers with metal tape or strapping machine.
Stamp, stencil, or glue identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
Post weights and shipping charges, and affix postage.
Unpack and examine incoming shipments, recording damaged items, shortages, and correspond information with shipper.
Ensure that outgoing shipments meets all safety and securement specifications.
All other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

High School diploma.
One-year experience in shipping and receiving in heavy duty parts preferred.
One-year experience in a warehouse position preferred.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to interpret vendor catalogs.
Ability to use parts department computer system, calculator, and forklift and hand trucks.
Ability to use mechanical tools such as crimpers, cutters, pliers, wrenches, and tape measure.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Requires standing for long periods.
Required frequent lifting of objects 5 to 50 pounds.
Occasional lifting of objects over 50 pounds.
Frequent telephone use.
Must be able to communicate and work well with others in a fast pace environment.
Requires some work outdoors, transferring parts to and from trucks.
